Headquarters operations run in a cloud Artifact instance — the enterprise. Each warehouse runs its own satellite Artifact on local hardware, connected to the enterprise. When a warehouse loses the internet, its floor keeps moving and builds a backlog; when the connection returns, the satellite syncs back and headquarters catches up.
